England – 2018 Joseph, July 4, 2018July 4, 2018 As Scallywags is an authentic English football headquarters, and the fact I had got some amazing photos of Colombia fans in Toronto 2014, I decided to say put for the afternoon match. The anticipation for the clash of England and Colombia was palpable by the afternoon and the bar filled up pretty quickly, by 1pm it was hard to find a spot anywhere. While it wasn’t much of an exciting match, the result was just want England was looking for and the Scallywags went bonkers from top to bottom. This is England World Cup Toronto. Date: July 3, 2018 Score of game: Colombia 1, England 1 (England win on penalties 3-4) Location: Scallywags, 11 St. Clair West, Toronto, ON Estimated number of fans at location: 250 All in all, it was a frustrating match for England. Their attacks on net never seemed too threatening. It was fortunate Colombia never looked that menacing either. Most of the reactions I got for the majority of the match was boredom or frustration. England finally scored first on a penalty kick by Kane. More frustration followed leading to a last minute game tying goal by Colombia. Shootout For the shootout I went upstairs to the steamy and packed patio, knowing they might get a little more rowdy. The series of photos below, similar to Croatia, is the highs and lows of a dramatic series of goals and shots. A classy handful of Colombia fans were on hand to witness the cheers, but graciously applauded the English supporters. Related

It was a much fancier establishment then a lot of the other venues I’ve been to watch the games, but it was hand selected by… Read More
2018 England – 2018 July 11, 2018July 19, 2018 This wasn’t my first attempt at Opera Bob’s to watch an England 2018 World Cup match. It’s a small place and they reach capacity pretty quickly, especially when England is doing something pretty magical. I had missed the previous match, apparently 15 minutes before the game was a little on… Read More
2018 Morocco – 2018 June 15, 2018June 26, 2018 At the very last minute I got wind of a gathering of Moroccan fans for their first game of the 2018 FIFA World Cup at Jack Astor’s on Front Street. About a dozen supporters trickled in over the first half and were enthusiastic throughout the match. Part of the fun… Read More
