Canada – 2026 (Game 1) Joseph, June 12, 2026June 21, 2026 Canada’s first points in a World Cup final, first home game, first Toronto World Cup match. It was a special day. I was at a loss as to where to watch this match, but I knew I wanted it to be someone special, and I have no regrets. Nathan Phillips Square was an amazing place to watch the game and to watch it with so many people, both casual and fanatic fans, was extra sweet. These first few photos from the balcony were taken in the first few minutes of the game, the crowd only got busier as the game went on, but I didn’t want to move from my place at the front. Definitely wish I could have been at two (or more) places at the same time for this game. I love this photo above, with all the different kinds of reactions you might expect, including someone just eating their sandwich. It is long overdue that Toronto has a place like Nathan Phillips Square hosting watch parties. Mississauga has had Celebration Square for decades and it’s the best overall place to watch the matches in previous World Cups in the whole GTA. A free, common viewing area, not just for Canada games, but for all games, should be a permanent feature in this city, and Nathan Phillips Square is the perfect spot. All three of Jordan’s games were scheduled at 10 PM or later, making them all night games. I know this might sound strange, but in the 20 years I’ve been photographing this project,… Read More

I was in the right place and really fortunate to be able to witness it all with so many thousands. These photos kind of speak for themselves, I don’t need to narrate the game or anything, we… Read More
