Türkiye – 2026 Joseph, June 14, 2026June 26, 2026 Türkiye came into their first World Cup in 24 years with a lot of excitement. Ranked as the 22nd best team in the world, there were a lot of expectations to advance in their group. I had a great tip from a Turkish friend to check out Teddy Beer on Bloor Street, and it turned out to be the one and only place I wanted to be to see the World Cup for fans in Toronto. The place was packed, from back patio to side private room to huge room in the front, and the sound and TV coverage was fantastic. It’s a great bar that is taking the World Cup seriously, showing each and every game. The most frustrating thing about the match was how dominant Türkiye was during the match, both outmatching Australia on shots on goal and ball possession, but they just couldn’t find the back of the match. With expectations high, it was a pretty disappointed crowd, I so would have loved to seen a goal with this crew, but alas, no luck.
