Ecuador – 2022 Joseph, November 26, 2022November 26, 2022 When looking for Ecuador World Cup fans in Toronto this year, I was elated to see that the very same restaurant I visited in 2006 was still open, still serving amazing Ecuadorian food, and still the hot spot for Ecuador World Cup fans in Toronto. That spot is El-Tipico Ecuatoriano on Keele Street. That kind of longevity is awesome and makes me love this place and Ecuador even more. Turns out, this place has been opened for over 35 years. Thirty-five years despite all the changes in the city, the recessions, and oh year, a pandemic, and here they are, once again hosting Ecuador World Cup fans 16 years later. I love that! And I love that I finally got a goal reaction photos this year for the team I was there to photograph! It was a great outcome for the Ecuador fans against a traditional powerhouse team, Netherlands. And in case you are wondering if I ate there, I did, and it was amazing. I don’t usually spend time eating at the places I’m photographing, too busy taking photos and having to get ready to head to the next game, but here I made an exception and I’m definitely taking my family back. The owner and staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming. I don’t take food photos to post on the gram, but as you can see in the photo below, the food is so good it even finds a way to photo bomb what was otherwise going to be an amazing shot. The place was jammed, and while I got there late, and there was nothing much to cheer about (especially after… Read More
2022 Morocco – 2022 November 28, 2022November 28, 2022 Spending the first half with the Morocco World Cup fans in Toronto on Sunday was an absolute joy and the whole reason I have continued doing this project for so many years. The game watch, hosted by the Moroccan Association of Toronto, made the gloomy Sunday (rain and Canada loss)… Read More
2022 Canada – 2022 November 24, 2022November 26, 2022 The anticipation was high. Canada played really well and proved they can compete at the highest level. It was a bummer not to win and not to score a goal. I’d love to go into all the details of the game, but I am shooting a conference early tomorrow and… Read More
