Iran – 2014 Joseph, June 17, 2014June 17, 2014 Easily considered the least exciting game of the 2014 World Cup, you wouldn’t know it if you were watching it with the Iranian fans in the Boston Pizza at Yonge and Sheppard. This place was packed, wall to wall, floor to ceiling with Iran fans and the energy in the room was extraordinary! Chanting, whistles and I even saw my first vuvuzela, something I miss so much from the 2010 World Cup. This event was set-up by the Iranian York University Association and they will be setting up other game watches. You can find them on Facebook at facebook.com/iranianyorku. I can promise, it will be a game watch worth attending, they throw a great party. Date: June 16, 2014 Score of game: Iran 0, Nigeria 0 Location: Boston Pizza, Yonge & Sheppard, 4841 Yonge St. Toronto, ON Estimated number of fans at location: 500 Related

In fact, an Iranian fan in 2006 was the first and only fan to hand me a flag from their country. I still have it to this day. In 2014, with the Iran fans,… Read More
2014 United States – 2014 June 26, 2014July 1, 2014 Stopped by The Office to see what kind of United States support they actually attracted. Despite the number of Americans in Toronto, they are rarely visually patriotic north of the border and in the past I’ve had a really tough time finding them. The Office didn’t disappoint. Despite a noon… Read More
