Spain – 2018 Joseph, June 15, 2018June 25, 2018 What a wild game! Down early, ahead late, only to draw in the final minutes by a hat-trick from Ronaldo, it’s an instant classic. Of course, I only watched the first half with the Spanish fans gathered at Tapas at Embrujo on The Danforth, but even that was enough of a ride. This is Spain World Cup in Toronto! Date: June 15, 2018 Score of game: Portugal 3, Spain 3 Location: Tapas at Embrujo, 97 Danforth Ave, Toronto, ON Estimated number of fans at location: 25 As you can see I focused on a young and very exuberant Spanish supporter who was up and down on almost every play, making me do the same. He personified the agony and the ecstasy of the beautiful game quite perfectly. It had been a while since I photographed Spanish World Cup fans in Toronto. Tapas at Embrujo will open early for the Spanish games and it’s a great place to watch the games with plenty of supporters. The kitchen was busy and the food looked fantastic. 2018 Portugal – 2018 July 1, 2018July 2, 2018 There are so many great Portuguese focused bars in Toronto, it’s hard to pick just one. As for some teams, I like to just wander the most likely intersections and find a bar that looks the most intriguing. Plus, I love a bar that has their fourth wall all the… Read More
