Jordan – 2026

Joseph, June 22, 2026June 28, 2026

Any way you look at it, Jordan had the most challenging EDT schedule of all the teams. All three of Jordan’s games were scheduled at 10 PM or later, making them all night games. I know this might sound strange, but in the 20 years I’ve been photographing this project, this is the first year I’ve photographed games at night in Toronto. And so, as Jordan was the first team to ONLY have night games, I was pretty excited to photograph these games.

Night games at Celebration Square area clearly amazing. Even more amazing when hundreds of people show up and wave flags no matter what, win or lose. I love this collection of flag in one spot. I can’t help but think of Les Misérables.

To have Jordan score first against a superior squad was pretty epic. The aftermath is documented below:

I left after the first goal, and while Jordan eventually lost, their presence at this World Cup was well felt and their fans in Toronto were amazing!

My first Jordan game was pretty memorable, but I knew I wanted to come back on another night. The photos below are from June 17, Jordan’s first game, super late and in the rain. Despite that, there were still loads of fans. I knew if that many showed up in the rain, there had to be so many more without. Photos below are from Jordan’s 3-1 loss to Austria on June 17, 2026.
